Assurances Benoit is a small insurance agency located in the centre of the well known wine-village of Beaune (Burgundy). We are part of Generali Assurances, one of the biggest insurance companies in France.
Our team consists of 11 insurance experts, all of French nationality except for one: Maartje SCHALK (see picture on the right) who is Dutch and can help you with any insurance matter in English (or Dutch).
Burgundy 4U is not your average French estate agency, as we specialise in helping English and Dutch speaking clients make the step to buy a property in France. We take the time to understand your needs and then help you find that house, even if not in our books at the moment. Our renowned after sales service is there to make your settling in as painless as possible, and help you enjoy France from day one. Be it a holiday house or main residence.
We cover all the beautiful Burgundy areas: The Châtillonnais with its proximity to Champagne, The Morvan regional park with rolling hills and lakes, The vineyards around Beaune and Chalon sur Saône, the medieval towns of Vezelay and Semur en Auxois. The famous Burgundy canals: Canal du Centre, Burgundy Canal and Canal du Nivernais encircle the region. In the centre of western europe, with Geneva, Lyon, Paris, and the Alps within 3 hours driving distance. CUSTOMISED PROPERTY SEARCH (Flat hunter services)
---------------------------------------------------------------------
In 2001, facing an immobilised French real estate market, the founders of CÔTÉ ACHETEUR decided to develop a new service concept, dedicated to the needs of their buyer clients and more suited to today's market.
A new profession was born:
"The buyer's agent" - flat hunter services
CÔTÉ ACHETEUR created the "customised property search".
For future buyers who don't have time to spend nights and weekends combing through the classifieds and get there too late..
We know that buying a home is one of life's most important decisions, financially and emotionally. We will guide and advise you in your best interests in this search from the very beginning to the closing signatures.
We do the research for you so you don't lose time.
A traditional agency represents the seller.
It can only offer those properties on its books and, even then, bearing the sellers interests in mind in this growing market.
CÔTÉ ACHETEUR represents you, the buyer. You are our customer!
As your representative, we have no ties to the seller. Our only objective is to help you find exactly what you're looking for.
We offer:
- Our expertise in the buyer's market with the company that pioneered the buyer's agency concept, created in 2001
- A written contract in keeping with the professional ethics by which we are governed
- An experienced sales force specialised in your geographical area.
- Important communication tools: advertisements, press, internet and other media
- Our website: a resource for sellers to match their properties with your preferences
Est 1994. Your registered French real estate agency for rural property in the North and the Center of France.
The main language within our organisation is dutch or english, and off course we speak all french fluently.
Our 4 offices in Eymet, Lalinde, Le Bugue, and St Cyprien, offer extensive coverage of the Dordogne Valley, including the popular region of Perigord Noir, South Western Dordogne and Northern Lot et Garonne.
The town of Bergerac, served by frequent flights from London, and other major cities throughout the UK, is an important gateway to this part of France. Most of the properties in our catalogue are less than an hour’s drive from the town and airport. Confining our operation to this defined area, means that we can thoroughly research the local market.
We personally visit, photograph and prepare written descriptions of every property that we advertise, so that we can provide you with detailed information. We can also advise you on local services, amenities and other important information on life in France.
Our region covers the valleys of La Loire and Le Loir rivers, stretching roughly from Angers to Tours (west to east) and Le Mans to Thouars (north to south)
We provide a personal service, assisting you in finding, purchasing and restoring properties. We will:
# Meet you and review your property selections
# Arrange and accompany you on property viewings
# Arrange and accompany you at meetings with the Notaire
# Arrange and attend (if needed) a visit to a local French bank to open an account/secure a mortgage
# Handle translation and advise on legal points in conjunction with the Notaire
# Help to arrange property insurance
# Arrange connection of utilities
# Help arrange property restoration and maintenance
# Provide (if required) an annual property surveillance contrac
Our professional bilingual agency offers a daily updated selection of the best properties. We offer a comprehensive package, guidance and advice throughout the purchase procedure and a full after sales service. You may already have seen us on national press and TV.

Administrative divisions:
France is divided into 26 administrative regions. 22 are in metropolitan France (21 are on the continental part of metropolitan France; one is the territorial collectivity of Corsica) , and four are overseas regions. The regions are further subdivided into 100 departments which are numbered (mainly alphabetically). This number is used in postal codes and vehicle number plates amongst others. The 100 departments are subdivided into 341 arrondissements which are, in turn, subdivided into 4,032 cantons. These cantons are then divided into 36,680 communes, which are municipalities with an elected municipal council.
Demography:
With an estimated population of 64.5 million people, France is the 19th most populous country in the world. France's largest cities are Paris, Marseille, Lyon, Lille, Toulouse, Nice, and Nantes.
